Philips PD9012 Review
The Philips PD9012 is ideal for people who want to watch movies during long car journeys. The two 9 inch TFT LCD screens can easily be mounted onto the backrest of a front car seat, allowing you and a friend, family member or your kids to watch DVDs during your journey. There are mounting straps and car adapter included with the player. The car adaptor lets you charge the player through the cigarette charger in the car.
Most CD and DVD discs are supported by the Philips portable DVD player. DVD, DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, (S)VCD, and CD – are all supported.
The Philips PD7012 has biult in stereo speakers. You can play music out loud whenever you like by unplugging the headphones. If you don’t want to disturb other people, you can leave your earphones plugged into the headphone jack.
If you were to have a power failure, the Philips PD7012′s DVD video player will remember the exact scene you were viewing when the power failure occured. If you don’t remove the disc from the machine, and you press the play button, the video will resume at the same scene where it left off. If you do take the disc out of the machine, you just need to put in back in, press play, and then press ‘resume’. This is a very smart feature.

Verdict:
These are some great little DVD players for wathcing movies on long car journeys, as long as you don’t mind having only 1 DVD player to control. Picture quality is impressive, and sound quality is decent.
The monitors attach to backrests firmly and don’t wobble around. This is a big plus as it makes them safe for kids to use in the back of a car. There is no remote control, which is a shame. However, you are unlikely to ever be far away from the device, and using remotes from the front of a car if you have kids in the back can be very difficult.
These speakers provide a very good cheap alternative for families who can’t afford or don’t want to pay the price of having a DVD player built into their cars. Pitcure quality and screen brightness won’t be quite as good, but they represent very good value for money.
